MPL and the Juridical Needs to codify Islamic Law

by Ahmed Fazel Ebrahim

1. Collation, Classification and Review of Fatawa of all the Mazaahib including those who do not follow the mainstream mazaahib.

It would be beneficial if the various issues (Fatawa) are briefly described and the sources to the answer be presented for easy reference access.

2. Collation of case law in the local MPL structure and other international sources. Review of this material in terms of Islamic legal principles of the various mazahib and indexing the material.

3. Establishing a panel to review all the cases held under the MPL in order to identify juridical opinions and errors and acquire juridical certainty.

4. Creation of a syllabus comprising of gathered case law as well as structured chapters of relative fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) sections from all the mazahib.

5. Acquisition of MPL formats that are applied in non-Muslim (India) and Muslim states whether these be Arab or non-Arab (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Pakistan, Malaysia).
