Shaykh Amjad Rasheed

Shaykh Amjad Rasheed is a young Palestinian scholar who has studied Sacred Law (with an emphasis on Shafi'i fiqh) for several years with top scholars in Syria, Jordan, and Hadramawt.  He has received numerous ijazas to impart his knowledge to others from the scholars that he sat with.  Recently, he completed his PhD in Islamic Law for a critical edition and annotation of Imam Ghazali's Khulasat al-Mukhtasar.  A student of Shaykh Nuh Keller, he currently lives in Amman and gives public lessons in Shafi'i fiqh and other subjects in Shaykh Nuh's zawiya.

Questions received by the Shafi'i list are translated to Arabic and sent to Shaykh Amjad, whose replies are then translated back into English and posted on the list.

Shaykh 'Isam Eydoo

Shaykh 'Isam is a Faculty member of the University of the University of Damascus, after having graduated first in his class. He brings to SunniPath a good deal of teaching experience honed at several schools in Damascus. He doubled up his teaching load with work as a public relations specialist for a German-Turkish company in Damascus. He is presently working towards his Ph.D. Close student of Shaykh Nur al-Din Itr, Shaykh Mahmud al-Masri, and others.

Shaykh Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf

Shaykh Abdurrahman studied primarily at Darul Uloom Bury, North England for more than 11 years, where he completed his hifz and ''alim class. A portion of the ''alim class was studied in Gujrat. He has also completed the six books of Hadith along with the Muwattas of Imam Malik and Imam Muhammad. After graduating from Darul Uloom Bury, Shaykh Abdurrahman went to Madrasah Zakariyyah in South Africa and studied part-time with Mufti Radha al-Haq. He also completed a BA Honors degree at Rand Afrikaans University in Johannesburg under Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Doi.

He then traveled to Syria, where he received authorization [ijaza] from Shaykh Abd al-Razzaq al-Halabi for reciting the entire Qur''an from memory [hifz],and from Shaykh Adib Kallas for studying the Sharh al-Fiqh al-Akbar of Mulla Ali Qari, and attending lectures on other classiscal texts on Aqida.

His following year was spent in Saharanpur, India completing the Ifta'' course. This involved studying al-Ashbah wa ''l-naza''ir of Ibn Nujaym, Siraji in Mirath, the chapter on Buyu'', Ijarah, etc, Waqf, and qada of the al-Durr al-mukhtar. Also studied the following in Usul al-Hadith: Qafw al-athar, al-Raf'' wa ''l-Takmil fil Jarh wa ''-lta''dil of Lakhnawi, and half of Suyuti''s Tadrib al-Rawi. The latter books were part of the Takhassus fil Hadith course.

Shaykh Abdurrahman also aquired the ijaza of the great hadith scholars Shaykh Muhaddith Habib al-Rahman al-A''zami through his student Shaykh Mufti Zayn al-''Abidin, head of the Takhassus fil Hadith program. He also had the fortunate opportunity to read the awa''il [first hadiths] of the primary nine hadith collection to Shaykh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi in Nadwat al-''Ulama, Lukhnow and received his Ijazah. Also received the ijaza of Shaykh Muhammad al-''Awwama the great Syrian hadith scholar, who is currently living in Madina Munawwara.

The shaykh has worked on the following books:

Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari

Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari completed the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum of Islamic studies under traditional scholars in Britain, after which he completed a specialization in hadith, in which he covered the 9 major works of hadith, and culminated this with the attainment of a 2-year specialization in the science of giving legal verdicts (ifta’), under Mufti Taqi Usmani and other top scholars in Pakistan. He then went to Syria, where he completed a Master’s in Advanced Fiqh through al-Azhar (Cairo), and studied under top Arab scholars. One of these scholars, Shaykh Abd al-Latif Farfour said that Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam has a tremendous future, and seems destined to become one of the top scholars of our times. Sidi Sulaiman Hart

Sulaiman Hart lives in Hayy Kharabhseh, Amman (Jordan), near Shaykh Nuh Keller’s Zawiya. He is a close student of Shaykh Amjad Rasheed, Shaykh Ali Hani, and others. He is a South African Muslim, having been blessed with Islam in his late teens. http://www.sunnipath.com

Sidi Faraz Rabbani

Sidi Faraz Rabbani is a student of Hanafi fiqh and the Islamic sciences. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in Commerce and Economics, he spent three years in Damascus where he studied fiqh, 'aqida, and other subjects with Shaykh Adib al-Kallas, Shaykh Hassan al-Hindi, Shaykh Muhammad Jumu'ah, Shaykh Muhammad Qaylish, Shaykh Mu'min al-Annan, and others.

He then moved to Amman in the summer of 2000, where he has lived since then, continuing his studies with teachers in Jordan, and corresponding regularly with scholars in the Indian Subcontinent. Sidi Faraz is a student of Shaykh Nuh Keller and teaches Hanafi fiqh and other subjects in Amman.
